RESEARCH

Supporting medical research leading to a cure for EM is a core mission of TEA. Since its founding in 1999, TEA has raised money for its Research Fund, which is restricted to use for research.

We have constructed a timeline to show research progress in the EM field and have a detailed explanation of inherited EM research authored by Stephen Waxman, PhD, Yale University School of Medicine and Veterans' Administration and Joost Drenth, MD, Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Center.

TEA also announces appropriate research studies where the researchers are asking for those with EM to volunteer for their projects.  Not all volunteers will be selected to participate, as the research projects may need individuals with specific symptomatic and overall health characteristics.  TEA does not sponsor or work directly with these projects and questions regarding any aspect of the projects must go directly to the contacts listed in the project descriptions.
